Chris Bouzanis
OWNER, LEAD WINEMAKER & VITICULTURIST
Chris is the lead winemaker and viticulturist at Laurel Wine and Agriculture. He brings with him over a dozen years of experience in the wine industry, undergraduate studies in Plant and Soil Science (University of British Columbia), and a graduate diploma in Viticulture & Oenology from the University of Adelaide. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Chris has actively sought out opportunities to work in challenging climates and at viticulture’s latitudinal limits to develop the skills and expertise necessary to farm, make wine, and solve problems. Cutting his teeth with industry-leading producers in New Zealand, Oregon, Australia, Ontario, and British Columbia, Chris gained valuable experience that informs his approach to both the farm and the winery. He also works with the British Columbia Winegrape Council and Sustainable Winegrowing British Columbia to help improve sustainability and industry practices across the province.
